This is a small little local market that I do every year partially to just, exist in my local community and also because it makes just enough for me to be worth it every time! I had a great time at this market and will probably return next year as well!

This was a bit of a suprise event that I wasn't sure I was going to be able to attend. When the Kelowna ComiCon in September got cancelled due to wildfires, they put together a one day show for us last minute! I thought it might be a little slow since it was announced with very little lead time and was only a one-day thing, but the table was so inexpensive that I decided to go anyways, and I'm glad I did! It was actually super busy and makes me excited for the larger 3-day con in June next year!

It was a great time! I particularly liked the part where since there was an RCQ on Saturday, several of the local grinders would come and hang out with me after each round and I got to hear either bad beats stories or glorious victory stories. I ended up selling a lot of playmats which was surprising, and even a few avian playing cards (woohoo!) It wasn't a great show financially for me, but it being so close and effectively having zero travel costs means I signed up again next year.

I had a great time at GrandeCon this year! While it wasn't as busy as last year, the staff, vendors and attendees were lovely! I also tried out a new booth layout due to the ample space behind me, more and more I'm finding that I lack table space so I felt like moving my print display off the table might help me reclaim more space. In addition to this I also set up a small stand for my shirts! Overall it went okay, however due to the long distances from me and the amount of logistics that goes into attending this one, I'm not sure I'll be returning next year.

This event was nuts, I was working from before we opened right up until like 30 minutes before closing time. I ran out of bubble tea cups and sold out of both my Link and Sans print! Which gave me an opportunity to update the Link print for my next convention. I had a great time at Vernon ComiCon and definitely want to go back next year!

Sometimes a local low-key show is nice. I never make much at this one, but I cover costs and get to engage with my local community. It's also just a chill two days of reading, selling the odd thing and just having a chill time.

This one was fairly local to me, being a short 3 hour drive, so I thought I'd give it a shot, for the convention I finished a new Albedo piece, as well as a Lucy and Nezuko piece. I didn't end up selling very many of any of those pieces, to my chagrin! But I had a lovely time and did extremely well selling my other stuff. The staff and other vendors were lovely, and I'll definitely see if I can go back again next year!

My first anime convention after the pandemic and it was AWESOME. It was the first year this convention was running so I was a little dubious, also it was quite a drive out for me, but it was well worth it! The convention was busy, the guest stars were awesome and the people were super excited to be there! I absolutely want to go back next year if I can.

I didn't have a ton of new anime themed stuff to bring to this show and was worried that it wouldn't go well, but I was wrong, while it wasn't my best show I still did okay, got to reconnect with some people from past years and even sold some of the original art I've been working on! Depending on what shape my display takes next year I might be moving away from the anime convention scene to something a little more generic.

With judging being an almost full time commitment these days it's been difficult to go out to many conventions, but I had a really good time at covacon last year, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I had a few new pieces to display and saw alot of familiar faces there! Overall I had a good experience!

I came back for their final market of the year, it was a much nicer day, and there was a little more traffic. I got to interact with more of the local gaming community in a different kind of setting here, and I also got to play with a new kind of table layout! I had a lot of fun, and I may try them out again in the spring and summer.

this is a smaller local market, I've thought about trying them out in the past but haven't given it a shot before now :) it was kind of fun to interact with people from the local community, as a smaller market I didn't expect much, but I was happy with the few people I did get to interact with. I'll probably do them again in the future.

This one ended up being a very small event, but I still had a good time, I got to debut my new Star Wars buttons and show off my Sabaac prototype. I ran into some fun M:tG players as well as some familiar faces from other conventions! Overall I had a good time and will consider going back next year!

I had a very good time at AR! I'm always a little intimidated because it is a larger con and the skill and caliber of the artists there is so high, I always feel like I am not going to sell anything, especially prints because everyone else there is so skilled and their stuff is so beautiful! but I did okay! I even managed to sell some original prints! Which always means a lot, because it says that the person really liked the artwork! I'm still very humbled and joyful whenever someone buys a piece of original art! I had such a good time I'll be going back for sure next year!

I did okay at this one, I was on the ground floor with the vendors this time, which was mmuch better than being upstairs like last year. I didn't sell a ton of stuff, but I did sell a lot of Triple Triads and Zelda prints, and meeting the Magic players is always a good time! I might go back next year depending on what is happening that weekend.

Covacon was a lot of fun, I've never been to this convention before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, as with all conventions on the island, reception was great! There were a lot of kind people and some super cool anime fans! I'll probably go back again next year if possible! The tables were also huge because there was no distinction between vendors and artists, so there was a lot more real estate for me to work with

This was a suprise, I didn't initially get picked, but was chosen off the waitlist (I guess someone else cancelled?). I did alright, one of the bigger conventions I've been to, but suprisingly, not as busy, AniRevo was actually a better con for me, which was a little disappointing, because I was only at AniRevo for a day and the table was a third of the price. Regardless, it was a still a fun show. The other vendors around me were kind and pleasant people to interact with, I found some Magic players, some Undertale fans, and even some quirky cosplayers. Overall it was a good convention, and I may return next year.

AR was definitely the biggest convention I've done so far, and it was kind of intimidating, needing two pieces of ID to sign in was definitely a first. And when I walked in there were so many amazing artists, I felt kind of out of place. It was my first time at AR and I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I figured with so many amazing people there I probably shouldn't expect much. I was at the back of the hall with just a 1 day booth (this was an experiment, to see if I was ready for larger conventions). I was also alone, the person that usually helps with the booth was working, so set up was difficult, luckily the other vendors around me were very helpful! The table was shorter than other conventions so I went for a display one row higher than normal and a little longer. Overall I was blown away with how well I did, I didn't sell a lot of prints, which was expected, considering the competition, but pins and cards sold insanely well! I met some fantastic magic players there, made friends with the artist beside me and even touched base with the cult guys again :) I'd say next to Tsukinocon it was my best con of the year! I will definitely get a 3 day booth next year if I can! I'm looking forward to my next set of conventions, I've applied for Fan Expo, but am not sure if I'm in yet, and i'm going to apply for Tsukinocon when it's up!
Overall this year for conventions was a HUGE success, I've done better than I ever would've imagined, and am very excited to work hard, improve my art and bring some beautiful things into the next season!

AE went okay, at first my table placement was pretty poor, but about an hour in I noticed a bunch of vendors failed to show up and asked if I could move to one of the empty tables, they agreed and I managed to get a significantly better position. overall I did okay, it certainly wasn't my worst con of the season, but it also wasn't my best either. a highlight is I got to see some familiar faces again, karu crafts was there, as well as the fantastic guys that made Cult (check out this game if you haven't heard of it) as well as the cool dudes from Core Games.

back from Minicomi, overall it was fun, it felt super short, because it was (10-5). I'm still not entirely sure what Minicomi is exactly? some kind of art market, I think? after all the smaller conventions I have been doing it felt very jarring to be in a room with so many other artists! the floor was constantly busy, and there were some incredibly skilled people there! It was kind of inspiring, and let me know I still have a long way to go. I ran in to a few people that I am starting to recognize, the lady that made my cat hat -> karu crafts, I also ran into ka wai lee & sam kalensky two phenomenal artists I see at a lot of shows. I missed tris nielsen who couldn't make it because of a cold Q.Q financially it was my lowest net revenue all year, I think factors were the sheer amount of competition coupled with the fact that I think the patrons present were not part of the demographic I cater to. even so, it was still marginally profitable, and I'll probably try it again next year ^_^

had a nice weekend at the nothing but games convention, It was a lower key event as is expected of a subsidiary of VCon, but vending went better than anticipated, and I got a lot of other work done during the dead periods. (in particular look forward to some Steven Universe stuff and perhaps a newer, better looking Sans print) I met some cool people and actually had a good time. The atmosphere was light and fun, and the other vendors were all quite cool people. I even ran into the Cult guys again, and finally managed to snag a copy of their ultra cool game (a superfight-esque card game about starting your own cult, totally my kind of flavour)

This convention went moderately well, I feel like my table location wasn't as stellar as it was in the previous conventions, and I do believe it impacted my sales negatively. However, traffic was still pretty steady and the attendees seemed happy, as well as the other artists. I'll definitely be going back next year, as their coordinators post-convention correspondence was the best I've seen out of any convention!

Tsukinocon 2017 was INSANE! I was super busy & had a lot of fun! I didn't accurately guess how insane the pokemon pins were going to be! The project was a huge hit! by the end of the convention I was completely out of pin parts (I make the pins to order) and was selling them right off the boards :S! I also ran a draw that was a huge success to raffle off my old Pokemon pin board! I was suprised at how many people wanted to enter the draw! in the end Gavin was my big winner! I was so glad to be there and hope I get to go again next year!

Event was an organizational disaster, but I did get to bond with a few of the other vendors over the mutual suffering, so that was nice :) Note: putting vendors outside during the most highly publicized and hyped storm of the season is NOT a good idea. And while it didn't work out, I will try to see the bright side, -I didn't catch a cold. -I met someone else who played magic (considering the very sparse attendance, that was actually quite cool! :3) -I got to playtest a kickstarter game -Every other convention I attend will be better than this one. So, while this was not a success, I will continue trucking forward

convention went very well! Much better than last year! I will be giving them another shot next year. many people stopped by and picked up their favorite pokemon pin, or a print (sold more original prints than I expected ^.^) also sold out entirely of my Sans print :3 I also met a ton of interesting people & got to high five some fellow mystic players. got to gush about cards with some magic players & picked up a copy of Symetra! I applied for two jobs to paint book covers (crossed fingers) As well as submitting my novel to Edge publishing for examination! (the guy who I gave the manuscript to recognized me later in the convention and I had one of those 'Senpai noticed me moments') overall very fun & profitable weekend this lovely (haha) photo was my booth, you can't see the stuff on the sides, but w/e. I also don't know when wez took this picture but this is probably the worlds worst photo of me -.- my expression is NOT indicative of how I felt over the weekend :P thanks to everyone who stopped by & I can't wait to see you all next year!

things went very well! (probably partially because my table location was really good) I sold out of almost all my cards! And sent many happy pokemon go players away from my booth with team banners, buttons and various pokeballs! I even managed to sell a few of my original art pieces (suprise!) and met some magic players too! overall things went very well. AE staff was very disorganized at first, but throughout the convention they seemed to get their stuff together and took care of us in the artists alley. I even did a few quirky commissions! (will be posted when I get home) it was overall a very gratifying and rewarding experience. will continue to attack the convention scene with renewed vigor and inspiration! and thanks again to everyone who stopped by my booth, and even just looked and appreciated some of the stuff

Tsukinocon went really well! covered costs and even made a little bit (which for an artist is really good!) I'm going to keep trying at conventions, but with the small surplus I'll be purchasing some things to improve my booth (mostly just so it looks a little less like a chaotic mess!)
